Description

It is a sunglasses with camera, microphone, and stereo bone conduction headphones. The device continuously captures videos and transmits it to a smartphone via a WiFi connection. The mobile app analyse the input video based on compact deep-learning models. The mobile app can read the texts, recognize objects, and obstacles, and describe what’s around. it generates verbal messages as outcome and transmits them to the wearable device to be presented to the user via stereo bone conduction headphones. Bone conduction allows the audio description to be heard through the bones instead of the ear canal. So, the ear canal remains open. Consequently, we can preserve spatial/situational awareness which is essential for the blind and old people.
